The Rock Band Network Music Store Open For Business

Harmonix Music Systems and MTV Games, a part of Viacom’s MTV Networks, announced that the Rock Band Network Music Store opens to the public today, giving Rock Band fans and music lovers a new avenue to discover music and providing musicians and labels the opportunity to produce and promote tracks for the Rock Band platform. The Rock Band Network, announced in July, is a ground-breaking initiative that gives musicians, publishers and record labels the ability to author their original recordings into gameplay files to promote and sell their music as playable Rock Band tracks through the Rock Band Network Music Store (RBN Store).

Noisy Puppet Studios has been working with Harmonix to develop the RBN store since May 2009. Noisy Puppet Studios founder Jeremy Parker developed the RBN Store software with the Harmonix development team. Noisy Puppet Studios then joined the RBN Beta program in honing the tools and preparing the online system for public release. Noisy Puppet Studios has developed content for artists including Flight Of The Conchords, Jonathan Coulton, Mayday Parade, Day Of Fire, Done Lying Down, and many more. There are more than 300 artists in the RBN pipeline and many more coming soon. Continue reading
